Saturday night was the first PBR event held at the new Cowboys Stadium. The Dickies Iron Cowboy Invitational didn’t disappoint. Over 45,000 rodeo fans came to witness the biggest purse in bull riding history. Hot Read Sports was ringside for all the rowdy action. The PBR, professional bull riding, put on a showcase like never before. 24 bull riders would go head to head…..tournament style. Riders would have to ride some of the best bulls in the world including #2 ranked Voodoo Child and #3 ranked Big Tex in the semi-finals. If they made it past those tough challenges the #1 ranked bull, Code Blue, awaited the two finalists. Picture below.
The night started off with a concert put on by country superstar Gary Allen. Then, it was time for the showcase. All 24 bull riders were introduced and given a congratulatory handshake from Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

The evening never lagged. Thanks to 4 shoots constantly loading bulls and riders the action was non-stop. In the end, Brazilian rider Valdiron de Oliveira was pitted against Travis Briscoe for the top prize. Briscoe was up first and rode Code Blue for 3.6 seconds. Not to be outdone, De Oliveira rode next and put up 4.5 seconds on Code Blue to take the record winnings check of $260,000. For second place, Briscoe took home $40,000.
As the event came to a close, Hot Read Sports and a few lovely ladies were able to kick back and enjoy an excellent night. Jack Daniels on the rocks, please!
