Official 2010 World Cup Song Performed By Shakira

Every 4 years the world comes together to watch the biggest tournament of the most popular sport.  Soccer.  The 2010 World Cup in South Africa will have no shortage of drama, action, flops, and political controversy.  The official 2010 World Cup song was chosen and of course it also comes with a bit of controversy.  The song, Waka Waka (This Time for Africa), will be performed by Shakira.  Strange that a latin singer from Colombia was chosen to sing the theme song since the World Cup is being played in Africa.  Also very controversial is the opening line of the song…”you’re a good soldier.”  Controversial since the World Cup prides itself on peace….a month long celebration of the world in which soldiers should disarm and come together for the greater good.  But the song is catchy and if you look past the undertones it is also an uplifting song. What do you think?
