Ahhh yes, the great dash across the field by the fan that thinks its awesome to do so. Actually it is awesome in a way. It’s like bonus entertainment. You come to watch the game and smack dab in the middle you get to see somebody act like a jackass and get tackled by security. Sweet! But the other night in Philadelphia the scene was different. During the Philadelphia Phillies vs. St. Louis Cardinals game a young teen fan decided he would enter himself into the halls of the immortals by running across the field at Citizens Bank Park. Waving his shirt over his head like a helicopter he proceeded to run around in circles yelling and screaming. All while players and fans watched and cheered (“Hey look at that moron on the field”). Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard was even seen covering his face with his glove to contain his laughter. Then security came out to round up the young man. These guys were not in the mood to screw around. Tackling? Who needs tackling when you can whip out a taser gun in front of 40,000 fans and drop a kid like a sack of potatoes. And when we say drop we mean drop as in “face plant” into the turf. Ahh yes, the great dash. And all for free with the price of admission. Check out the video below.
